Save the Children Australia’s annual South of the River Book Sale has raised more than $50,000 for the charity’s various programs.

Proceeds from this year’s book sale will mostly go to a Multicultural playgroup based in Perth’s southern Suburbs called ‘It Takes a Village’.
The playgroup is designed to provide support and a sense of community to migrant children and families as they adapt to life in Australia.
The book sale was run over five days and more than 20,000 books were sold.
The charity’s WA State Manager, Glyn Davies, says that what he loves most about the sale is the community involvement.
“Some people buy books and then donate them back to the charity the next year. It’s a lovely cycle of people helping people,” he said.
