Perth is full of skilled artists, they just needed RAW to help showcase them for the world to see.

Louis Gillam, 21, featured his alternative fashion line, Zombie Clothing, inspired by his boyish imagination and sense of wonder.
“I chose garments that show a good progression from my earlier designs and forward motion to a more defined style,” says Gillam, who revealed his new “Enigma” designs.
RAW is an independent arts organisation, which hand-picks and spotlights independent creators in genres ranging from visual arts, musicians, fashion and performing arts.
RAW Perth event organiser, Nikki Mauri described its mission:“provide up-and-coming artists of all creative realms with the tools, resources and exposure needed to inspire and cultivate creativity so that they might be seen, heard and loved.”
Gillam is the first male designer RAW Perth have ever presented in one of their events.
“Fashion is very female dominated, so I feel that more Perth male designers should be recognised as a force to be reckoned with,” says Gillam.
“We encourage the creative success of the many visionaries and storytellers of our generation,” says Mauri.
The audience was able to make their way around the maze-like structure of the venue, to look at all the stalls set up by the artists.
Drew Krapljanov performed with his alternative rock band, Ohayo, captivating the audience with their music.
“It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our work to an audience and it was a wonderful networking opportunity to meet other like-minded artists,” says Krapljanov.
Raw is currently operating in 60 countries around the world, uncovering gifted individuals everywhere they host an event.
“All the artists involved were incredible because they are representing a deep, profound part of themselves and doing that, makes you the best artist you could ever be,” says Krapljanov.
Registration for the next RAW event is open now.
