Powercruise Promotions brought Perth’s finest cruising cars to Barbagallo Raceway last week.

Over a four-day program, the event encouraged rebellious drifting, burnouts and powerskids – an opportunity some people couldn’t refuse.
The various driving events are conducted in a controlled, safe environment.
Saturday brought thousands of car lovers to the event to watch the entrants practice and push their cars’ performance levels to the limit.
Car enthusiast Trav Vallis has been working in the car industry for more than 10 years.
Powercruise is one of the few events he gets the chance to sit back and spectate instead of being under the hood of a car.
“I’ve always been into cars, especially Nissans. I’ve been working on some over the past few years. My Silvia has been entered into Powercruise before too,” says Trav.
Trav had the choice to jump into the passenger seat of his friend’s car or sit back in the stands and experience the view.
“It’s an amazing feeling when you’re in the car taking a sharp turn and drifting around the corner. But it’s also nice to watch from the sidelines,” he says.
“Saturday’s event line-up was quite decent. Some of the entrants could’ve done better at the drifting practice, but the powerskids were incredible this year.”
Nicholas Callaghan, a spectator from Saturday’s event, had his first Powercruise experience.
“The turn out was unexpected … didn’t think there would actually be that many people there,” Nicholas says.
“Considering Saturday was the practice run, there were still so many talented drivers and being able to walk around and look at everyone’s cars was awesome,” he says.
Powercruise Promotions also takes events to USA and New Zealand.
This year is Australia’s 51st Powercruise since 2003.
